Buying baby clothes can be a lot of fun with a lot of choice and so many fantastic and beautiful outfits to choose from. However, when you are starting out it is so easy to get distracted from the essential clothes that your baby really needs and start to get sidetracked into buying baby clothes just on how they look. This is rarely a good idea.
For a newborn it is important to, first and foremost, keep your baby clothes simple to start with. Avoid over-complicating your original selection of baby clothes with lots of affectations such as shiny, glittery, bows and clasps - as newborns won’t be able to tell the difference anyway. Buying very young babies clothes solely on their looks should be passed over in favour for comfort and practicality.
Look for clothes that have been designed for ease of use - getting your baby in and out of their clothes easily will be of huge benefit to you in the long run.
Comfort and warmth and warmth are also of critical. The all-in-one style of body suits that do-up between the legs are excellent for keeping your baby warm - and are also very comfortable.
Although they look cute on little girls, dresses aren’t necessarily a great purchase for the newborn babies. It’s natural for you want them to look cute and pretty and sometimes they look temptingly cute on the store shelves but they are not really what is best for your baby. Unfortunately dresses aren’t all that practical for little girls as they easily creep up your baby’s body meaning she could easily get cold and uncomfortable - especially when she starts to crawl. Having said that there is no harm in selecting one or two dresses for special occasions.
